SAN FRANCISCO — A federal appeals court has upheld the temporary block on the Trump administration’s asylum ban.

The Íøºì±¬ÁÏ and partner organizations secured the temporary restraining order last month to halt the policy as their challenge is litigated. On Nov. 30, a district judge rejected the administration’s request to stay the order; today the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the government’s appeal of that ruling.

Íøºì±¬ÁÏ attorney Lee Gelernt had this reaction:

“The Ninth Circuit’s decision to keep the asylum ban blocked is consistent with the decision Congress has made and will save save lives.â€
